Setup checklist

Use this checklist after the add-on is installed and activated.

Confirm the base connector first

Axtolab AI Assistant depends on Axtolab AI Connector. Before testing assistant prompts, confirm:

• AI Connector is active.
• Your site can load the AI Connector admin screen.
• Your license/account state is healthy.
• A low-risk AI client connection works with a read-only request.

If the connector is not working yet, start with AI Connector getting started.

First assistant setup

1. Install the AI Assistant add-on ZIP from your Axtolab account.
2. Activate the plugin in WordPress.
3. Open the Axtolab AI Assistant screen in wp-admin.
4. Confirm the screen shows the active connector/account state.
5. Start with a non-publishing prompt.

Good first prompt:

Summarise my site context and suggest three low-risk content tasks. Do not edit anything yet.

Safe first workflow

For the first real task, ask the assistant to prepare a draft or checklist before changing content.

Recommended sequence:

1. Ask for a plan.
2. Review the plan.
3. Ask the assistant to create a draft, not publish.
4. Review the draft in WordPress.
5. Publish manually only after review.

What to check after the first task

• The expected draft or recommendation exists.
• No unexpected content was published.
• The connector/audit history shows the action you expected.
• Any temporary test draft has been trashed or clearly labelled.

Troubleshooting

If the assistant cannot act:

• Confirm AI Connector is active.
• Confirm your client/connection still has the required permissions.
• Refresh or reconnect the AI client if tools were added after connection.
• Check AI Connector troubleshooting.
